Finland has no plans to deploy nuclear weapons – President

Sauli Niiniste said that nuclear war cannot be won and should never be waged.

After joining NATO, Finland does not intend to import nuclear weapons into its territory. This is what Finnish President Sauli Niiniste said at the opening of the National Defense Courses (MPK), reports Yle.

According to him, nuclear weapons are an important part of NATO’s deterrence forces, but they are a preventive tool, not an end in themselves.

Sauli Niiniste said that nuclear war cannot be won and should never be waged.

The President of Finland also reviewed the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine, saying that Ukraine has every right to defend its integrity and legal borders, and that the Russian army has no right to be on Ukrainian soil.

“Finland will help Ukraine as long as necessary,” Niiniste said.

Earlier, the media wrote that Finland would allow NATO to deploy nuclear weapons on Russia’s border.

Remember that Finnish and NATO forces will conduct exercises in the Baltic.
