In mid-October, trains with Russian military began to arrive at the main Belarusian training grounds, and the latest military infrastructure facilities are being built.
Some of them are similar to those that existed in Belarus before the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. What is happening there, the Belarusian edition of Radio Liberty tried to figure it out using the Planet Labs satellite service.
Reports of the active arrival of Russian troops in Belarus appeared in mid-October. On October 10, Alexander Lukashenko announced that he had agreed with the Muscovite dictator Putin on the deployment of a joint regional group of troops “in connection with the escalation on the western borders of the” union state “.
He also repeated that Ukraine plans to strike at the territory of the Belarusians – Minsk was allegedly warned about this by “unofficial channels”.
The exact number of Russian troops in Belarus is still unknown. Lukashenka named the figure of 9 thousand, Ukrainian intelligence speaks of 20 thousand mobilized Russians. Judging by the messages on the Internet, “manpower” comes to Belarus, partly by people, to a lesser extent by technology.
Polygon “Obuz-Lesnovsky”
The picture from October 31 shows that the number of tents for the Russian military has increased. On the territory there is a field camp, a field hospital and a parking lot of Russian equipment with different trucks of the Ural type. In the picture you can count about 190 tents and 200 trucks.
Polygon “Losvido”
The picture shows a large field camp and two parking lots, most of the equipment is trucks. Tents – more than 100, equipment – about 45 units.
Landfill “Osipovichsky” 51 ABR
The picture shows a small field camp and a parking lot of military equipment: almost 40 tents and about 100 pieces of equipment.
Also on the photo was the railway station “Vereytsy”, where on October 31 the unloading of the echelon took place, and Russian equipment went to the training ground under its own power.
Airfield “Machulishchi”
The October 30 image clearly shows three Russian MiG-31Ks, the deployment of which in Machulishchi was previously reported by the Belarusian Gayun monitoring group.
A fresh photo shows that an object 7-8 meters long lies near one of the aircraft. It is similar in shape to the Kh-47M2 “Dagger”. Analysts do not claim that it is him, but the probability is very high.
