The countries of the Group of Seven (G7) warned Minsk about the financial consequences in case of direct participation in the war of Russia against Ukraine.
The foreign ministers of the G7 countries (USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Japan) said they would continue to impose economic sanctions on Russia and other countries supporting the war in Ukraine. This is stated in the joint statement of the heads of the foreign ministries of the “Group of Seven” following the meeting.
We reiterate our call to the Belarusian authorities to stop allowing Russia to wage a war of aggression, including allowing Russian military forces to use Belarusian territory to launch missiles aimed at Ukraine,” the statement said.
At the same time, it is noted that if the Belarusian authorities involve Belarus even more in the war, the G7 will put the “huge additional costs” regime.
The foreign ministers of the G7 countries also called Russia’s false information about Ukraine’s plans to use a “dirty bomb” false and said that the introduction of a ceiling on prices for Russian oil would soon be completed.
The day before, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during October, Russia transferred military equipment, property and soldiers to Belarus by rail, indicating that in this way Russia continues to use Belarus to strike at the territory of Ukraine.
The self-proclaimed dictator of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said earlier that a regional grouping of troops would be deployed near the Ukrainian border. At the same time, he referred to threats from Ukraine and the West, without providing evidence of his words.
At the same time, Ukrainian intelligence claims that Lukashenka is not sure that Belarusians are ready to support the possible participation of Belarusians in the war against Ukraine.
