Czech parliamentarians supported a resolution recognizing the Russian regime as a terrorist.
The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament on Thursday, November 3, recognized the Russian ruling regime as a terrorist. This was reported by the Cup edition Ceske Noviny.
“The Committee on Foreign Affairs defines the current Russian regime as a terrorist in accordance with the resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe,” said the related resolution.
The document condemned Russia’s aggression against Ukraine: attacks on civilians, civilian objects and basic infrastructure.
“The shelling and deployment of military units on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is a threat to the civilian population not only on the territory of Ukraine. Direct or indirect threat to use nuclear weapons, as well as those Ukraine’s false and baseless accusation of planning to use weapons of mass destruction is a dangerous escalation of tensions and a threat to European security,” the resolution said.
MEPs said that the actions of the Russian army correspond to the signs of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Because of this, those responsible should be punished.
The Committee supported Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky’s efforts to create a special tribunal for all those involved in the Russian military aggression.
The publication states that the resolution was supported by 12 of the 14 deputy members of the committee.
Recall that the Polish Senate unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing Russia as a terrorist regime.
In addition, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Thursday, October 13, adopted a resolution in which the Russian Federation was recognized as a terrorist regime.
