Most Germans believe that the German government should intensify diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine. Every fourth German considers military aid to Ukraine sufficient.
Most Germans are in favor of stepping up diplomatic efforts aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. 55 percent of respondents expressed the opinion that the German government is making insufficient efforts for this, according to data from the Deutschlandtrend survey published on Thursday, November 3, conducted by the sociological institute infratest dimap commissioned by the company ARD media.
As shown by the results of the study, the number of those who are dissatisfied with the activities of the German government in this direction has increased by 14 percent compared to June. Only three out of ten Germans believe that Berlin is making enough efforts in the diplomatic field.
Of the two participants in the armed conflict, Ukraine is still closer to the Germans than Russia. Thus, approximately one in two respondents (47 percent, minus 16 percent compared to March) considers Ukraine a reliable partner for Germany, and only one in ten (plus 4 percent compared to March) thinks so about Russia.

On the issue of anti-Russian sanctions, the views of the Germans are also divided: 37 percent of those surveyed consider them not tough enough, 31 percent – enough, and 23 percent – too harsh.
A survey conducted by infratest dimap showed that many Germans are concerned about rising prices in Germany amid the war in Ukraine. According to the results of the study, 66 percent of Germans are very or extremely worried about not having enough money to pay their bills (increased by 9 percent compared to October).
