The use of submarines by enemy troops has increased after the Ukrainian Armed Forces sank the flagship of the Russian fleet, Moscow, experts say.
Russia uses its submarines in the Black Sea to launch missile attacks on Ukraine. This opinion was expressed by British naval experts GI Sutton and Benjamin Pittet, wrote The Times April 22.
According to experts, at least four Project 877 Halibut submarines operate in the Black Sea. As indicated, from them the enemy launches Kalibr -type missiles at distant targets behind the Ukrainian.
It was noticed that the launch of the missiles was carried out from depths of up to 50 meters, which did not allow the radars and satellites to effectively adjust them.
To support their claims, Sutton and Pittet cited open-source data showing Russians loading missiles and warheads into submarines after Feb. 24 in naval ports.
Finally, experts emphasize that after the Ukrainian Armed Forces sank the Russian cruiser Moskva, the use of Russian army submarines became more frequent.
As reported, on April 5, the Ukrainian military fired another missile of Russia’s Calibr from a conventional artillery gun.
