An Airbus-320 aircraft of Ural Airlines, carrying 83 passengers and six crew members, made an emergency landing at the airport in the Russian city of Irkutsk. The tires on the plane’s chassis exploded, the Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported on Wednesday, November 2.
“The Airbus A320-200 aircraft of Ural Airlines, performing a passenger flight on the route Dushanbe – Irkutsk, suffered damage to four pneumatics of the main landing gear of the aircraft,” the report said.
No one was injured in the incident. The aircraft itself was also undamaged. An investigation has been launched into the matter.
According to the Mash Telegram channel, the A-A320 pilots learned about a critical brake failure at an altitude of 500 meters. And they were forced to sit manually.
“The aircraft’s parking brake automatically opened. The alarm sounded, the commander moved the parking brake lever to the on/off position several times – this did not help – the wheels remained locked. The overpressure did not work either. fear . and a set of tires,” the report said.
