Since the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine, Switzerland has sent more than 680 tons of humanitarian aid and 4,750 tons of food to Ukraine.
Switzerland will give Ukraine 100 million francs in aid for the coming winter season. This was reported by the Swiss news agency Swissinfo.
The Swiss government (Federal Council) has promised Ukraine 100 million Swiss francs/dollars in aid to help its people survive the winter. Switzerland, in particular, will help repair water supply and repair energy infrastructure facilities affected by Russian missile strikes, the report said.
It was reported that on Wednesday, November 2, the Federal Council adopted “an action plan to provide assistance to Ukraine for the coming winter season.” Aid in the amount of 100 million Swiss francs, Switzerland, as indicated, will provide projects “to support the urgent restoration of energy infrastructure and stabilize the humanitarian situation.”
Switzerland plans to support Ukrainian energy companies in the purchase of energy and spare parts, and it will also help repair railway lines carrying important goods such as grain. The Swiss government said it would also provide Ukrainians with humanitarian support to help those hardest hit prepare for winter – funding the replacement of windows shattered by Russian bombs and providing insulation materials and products.
Switzerland is also examining the possibility of supplying generators, pumps and water treatment plants to Ukraine. Previously, he had sent heavy construction equipment to this country to clear the ruins and remove the rubble. Swiss President Ignazio Cassis already discussed these issues with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his meeting with him in Kyiv on October 20.
