Since the campaign began on April 1, Just Stop Oil supporters have been arrested more than 1,900 times.
Supporters of the Just Stop Oil movement poured orange paint over four buildings in central London. Therefore, they require the government to issue licenses and permits for oil and gas production. This is stated on the organization’s website.
Specifically, on Monday, October 31, six people sprayed paint from fire extinguishers at the Home Office building, the MI5 building, the Bank of England and the News Corp headquarters.
According to Just Stop Oil, the buildings were chosen to represent the backbone that supports and sustains the power of the fossil fuel economy – government, security, finance and media.
“We are not prepared to stand by and watch all our loved ones being destroyed, vulnerable people starving, and fossil fuel companies and the wealthy profiting from our misery,” said one supporter.
