The denser mining is connected both with the duration of the enemy’s stay there, and with the fact that they use this method more as a deterrent to our troops.
The recently liberated territories have been twice as densely mined as the occupied parts of Kiev or Chernihiv regions. This was announced on the air of the telethon of the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky.
“If earlier we could talk about demining in Lugansk region, Donetsk region, then, unfortunately, at the moment we are forced to talk about it in fact in most of the territory of our state. In fact, almost everything is mined. If we compare with the Kiev region or the Chernihiv region, then the mining is twice as dense. This, of course, is connected with the duration of the enemy’s stay there, and the fact that they use this method as an obstacle to our troops,” said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Demining is now carried out by two services – the State Emergency Service and the police. In recent months, employees of the State Emergency Service have discovered more than 250,000 explosive objects, police – another 130,000.
Monastyrsky said that Western specialists are helping Ukrainian pyrotechnicians.
According to Monastyrsky, when humanitarian demining specialists see the amount of work required, they say it will take decades, but remember that the work of our specialists is better.
Recall that Ukraine received a British vehicle for mine clearance.
