At a conference in Berlin, a major decision was made to create a Financial Coordination Platform for aid to Ukraine. This is actually the financial analogue of “Ramstein” in the field of security. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting, Ukrinform reports on Friday, October 28.

According to him, this week Ukraine received a strong signal of consistent, continuous and effective support from international partners.
The new platform will work in the format of meetings between representatives of Ukraine, EU, G7 countries and international financial institutions. Finance ministers will jointly coordinate various aspects of financial assistance to Ukraine, agree on funding sources for short-term and long-term recovery plans, insurance, issues of confiscation and use of fixed property of Russia.
“These are resources for restoring critical infrastructure for the lives of millions of people, including power plants and substations, power lines, heat generation facilities, water pipelines, public facilities , etc. By 2023, we need $17 billion for the purpose of rapid recovery. As a result of the conference, there are framework agreements on these funds. We will work hard to ensure that they reach Ukraine as quickly as possible,” Shmyhal said.
Earlier this week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a speech at a conference in Berlin, called on EU countries to create a financial “Rammstein” to help Ukraine.
