The first group of forensic experts from Slovakia came to Kyiv to assist Ukrainian specialists in investigating war crimes by the army of the Russian Federation. This was announced on Thursday, April 21, by Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.
“The first group is already in the capital and is ready to assist us in investigating war crimes. This includes Slovak police officers, forensic experts and an anthropologist. They will share their time, knowledge and experience. , working in joint groups with colleagues in Ukraine, “said the Prosecutor General.
He stressed that in Ukraine during the mass aggression in Russia, more than 7,600 war crimes of the Russian Federation have already been recorded and the world’s support in collecting evidence is indispensable.
Venediktova recalled that a mission of representatives of the French gendarmerie and the medical service of the Armed Forces of the French Republic is now working in the Kyiv region. Also in Ukraine is the team of the Prosecutor’s Office of the International Criminal Court.
“The work of foreign specialists is also a sign of Ukraine’s openness. Our goal is completely transparent – a thorough investigation into every war crime in the Russian Federation to bring the perpetrators to justice,” said the prosecutor general.
Recall that since the beginning of the massive invasion of the Russian Federation, law enforcement officials have already registered 415 criminal proceedings for high treason and collaborative activities.
Earlier, Venediktova announced the suspicion of a number of high -ranking Russians.
