The Chinese Foreign Ministry said Beijing is ready to “firmly support the Russian side under the leadership of President Putin.”

China is ready to continue to support Russia under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin. Beijing also plans to strengthen cooperation between the countries. This was stated in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China on Thursday, October 27.

The report says that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“The Chinese side will firmly support the Russian side under the leadership of President Putin in uniting and leading the Russian people to overcome problems, eliminate chaos, realize the goals of strategic development, and further establish the Russia’s status as a major state on the international stage. It is the legitimate right of China and Russia to pursue their own development and revival,” the Chinese ministry said.

Beijing is ready to promote cooperation with Moscow in various fields, as well as to bring it “to a higher level,” the ministry added.

As previously reported, Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe had a telephone conversation with Shoigu. The parties “exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.”

In addition, Chinese leader Xi Jinping said Beijing is “ready to cooperate” with Washington to “find ways to find a common language for the benefit of both sides.”
