In recent months, Russia has expelled more than 1.6 million Ukrainian citizens from occupied Ukrainian territories.
The Children’s Ombudsman of the Russian Federation, Maria Lvova-Belova, adopted a boy who was illegally taken outside of Mariupol by the invaders. On Wednesday, October 26, he spoke at a press conference.
“I saw my son when a group of 31 children were evacuated from Mariupol,” said Lvova-Belova.
At the same time, he said that in total the Russians left the zone of “special military operations” up to two thousand orphans.

Lvova-Belova clarified that 350 orphans from Donetsk and Lugansk regions were illegally adopted and settled in 16 regions of Russia. And more than a thousand children are awaiting illegal adoption.
The Ombudsman said that soon the information about the children will be entered in the state data bank and will be available to all candidates for adoptive parents and guardians.
Russian troops are known for kidnapping and deporting Ukrainian children, who are then given up for illegal adoption in Russia.
The procedure for such “adoption” provides for the destruction of all documents and information about the natural parents, allows the change of the child’s name.
As of October 20, the Office of the President of Ukraine has information about 8,709 children who, according to their parents, acquaintances and relatives, were forcibly deported by the Russians or transferred.
Recall that some residents of Energodar, Zaporozhye region, agreed to send their children on vacation to Russia, and now they began to receive reports that the children were detained in the Russian Federation for a indefinite period.
