The Russian leader delivered through the President of Guinea-Bissau a proposal to Zelensky “to set up bridges and dialogue”, to which he received a counter offer – to stop destroying the infrastructure of Ukraine.
Guinea-Bissau President Umaru Shisoku Embalo, who arrived in Kyiv after a visit to Moscow, conveyed to President Volodymyr Zelensky that Russian leader Vladimir Putin wants to “build bridges and dialogue” with Ukraine. In response, Zelensky announced the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“Regarding the signals from the Russian side conveyed by Mr. President (Guinea-Bissau – ed.): he said that Russia wants to “set up bridges and dialogue.” I told the President (Guinea- Bissau – ed.) what is happening to us. This is very important. I said that the bridges between some states… it is necessary that the infrastructure is not destroyed. Then it is possible to talk about something in the future. And who to talk to,” Zelensky said in a briefing with the President of Guinea-Bissau.
According to him, Russia also conveyed to Zelensky that relations should be unblocked.
“I also say: we have to unblock it. Let’s start unblocking, at least, our Black Sea. We have to start with some kind of unblocking,” Zelensky said.
“Third, everyone is afraid that there is a nuclear threat. Lately, you know, everyone is talking about some kind of “dirty” bomb. So all this rhetoric is coming from the Russian side. The threat is from them. They occupied our nuclear power plant, they threaten to undermine the hydroelectric power station (Kakhovskoye – ed.), etc. We have what we have…” Zelensky added.
According to him, in order to start any dialogue with the Russian Federation, it is necessary that Russia respect the sovereignty, borders and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“Respect is necessary to start any dialogue, and to talk about any kind of dialogue in principle, it is necessary that one state respects another. It respects territorial integrity, sovereignty and borders. I think it is from such simple basic things that something starts At the moment, all this is not there,” said Zelensky.
At the same time, he called Putin’s desire to start a dialogue with Ukraine “nothing more than a planned rhetoric that should work for the internal audience of the President of the Russian Federation and for the audience of states that have not yet politically isolated between. their state and the state called Russia.”
Earlier, the Office of the President said that no matter how much the Kremlin does with various types of blackmail, Ukraine will not agree to negotiations.
In the Russian Federation they say that they are ready for negotiations with everything
