The exercise will help improve the capacity of the Ukrainian medical system in the context of a large-scale war, complicated by the onset of winter and current challenges related to the pandemic.
Ukrainian paramedics for first responders will be trained by instructors from NATO. The corresponding agreement was signed by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center, as well as by representatives of Romania. This was reported by the press service of NATO.
It is planned that this training will help to increase the capacity of the Ukrainian medical system in the face of the large-scale armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine – a situation that worsened with the onset of winter, and the current challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic .
It was mentioned that the exercises will be held in Romania with the help of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania.
Romania and NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center will fund training and logistical support through the Pandemic Response Trust Fund.
It was previously reported that Romania’s Defense Minister resigned due to the criticism that followed after his words that “negotiations with Russia may be the only chance for peace in Ukraine.”
