On October 25, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced the transfer of two additional MARS multiple launch rocket systems and four Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers to Ukraine.
Germany will provide Ukraine with two more MARS installations, four howitzers and will continue to supply air defense systems, Steinmeier said at a briefing after a meeting with Zelensky.
The German President also added, addressing Zelensky:
I agree with you that a just world is needed. A world that wants a Putin might bring a new war.
Zelensky also thanked Germany for its contribution to the fight against the aggressor country.
Germany’s contribution to our path to peace and the restoration of territorial integrity is very important, Zelensky said.
Recall that in mid-October, Germany announced the delivery of additional Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts and MARS II multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine. Earlier, Kyiv received the first German IRIS-T air defense system and four more American HIMARS systems. The IRIS-T air defense system is already in use by the armed forces in southern Ukraine.
