The head of the Russian Ministry of Transport is charged with participation in the preparation and execution of armed aggression against Ukraine.
The Security Service of Ukraine reported the suspicion of the Minister of Transport of Russia Vitaly Savelyev for participation in the preparation and execution of an armed attack against Ukraine. The SBU press center reported this on its Telegram channel on Tuesday, October 25.
The Russian official assisted the Russian Ministry of Defense in the transfer of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers to the borders of Ukraine and the temporarily occupied areas.
SBU employees documented that in the period from March 26, 2021 to September 4 this year, Savelyev ensured the transfer of almost 300 units of enemy armored vehicles to temporarily occupied Crimea – tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles and tank trucks with hundreds of tons of fuel and lubricants. The invaders joined them in the fighting in the Kherson, Zaporozhye and Donetsk regions.
The head of the Russian Ministry of Transport ordered subordinate units of the Russian Railways company and the so-called “KZD” Federal State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea “to use 250 wagons to move military trains.
Based on the collected evidence, Security Service investigators suspect Savelyev under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
▪️ Part 5 Art. 27, part 2 of Art. 437 (assistance in the planning, preparation, initiation and execution of an aggressive war);
▪️ Part 3 Art. 332 (illegal movement of people across the state border of Ukraine).
The penalty of the articles provides a penalty of up to fifteen years in prison.
The investigation was conducted by SBU officers under the procedural leadership of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
As you know, the Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian intelligence has a list of collaborators and their “merits” with Russia.
