Now the activities of 12 pro-Russian political forces are completely banned in Ukraine, the SBU noted.
The Cassation Administrative Court within the Supreme Court dismissed the Socialist Party of Ukraine’s appeal and finally banned its activities in the country. This was reported by the SBU on Saturday, October 22.
“The decision to ban the functioning of the Socialist Party of Ukraine was made on the basis of a presidential decree and a decision of the National Security and Defense Council. They were based on evidence of the party’s destructive activities, collected as part of the SBU’s response to threats to national security,” the report said.
It is indicated that, first of all, we are talking about demonstrative support and popularization of aggressive anti-Ukrainian policy of Russia, both at the level of leadership and “ordinary” members of this party.
Thus, this political force expanded the list of previously banned pro-Russian parties to 12, including: Opposition Bloc, Socialists, Justice and Development Party, Ours, Power, Vladimir Saldo Bloc, Left Opposition, the Shariy Party , the Union of Left Forces, the Opposition Platform – For life and the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine.
In the course of investigative and operational action, it was proven that representatives of these political forces were directly involved in:
-
the establishment of an occupation regime in the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russia;
-
organizing and holding fake “referendums” in these territories
Due to the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Russia, in the facts of the activities of their functionaries, SBU investigators:
-
launched more than 80 pre-trial investigations, including against representatives of councils at various levels;
-
within the framework of these proceedings, 37 suspicions were revealed.
Some defendants in these proceedings are hiding from justice, including in Russia.
Recall that in May the Verkhovna Rada banned pro-Russian parties. Then, 17 people’s representatives from the former Opposition Platform for Life voted “for”.
