Both chambers of the US Congress are discussing the issue of new military aid packages for Ukraine.
The US Congress is working on a new $50 billion aid package for Ukraine. This was announced on Friday, October 21, by the Voice of America, citing the comments of Democratic Congressman Jim Costa.
According to him, negotiations are currently underway in both houses of Congress to consider a new aid package to Ukraine.
The media said that consideration of the issue should take place after the November 8 election, but before the new Congress begins work in early January.
“We must continue. That is why negotiations on the next funding package is vital, because of the urgency and necessity. And we don’t know what will happen. The election is in 18 days. Kevin McCarthy has made statements that are worrying, Costa explained.
Note that the new $725 million US defense assistance package for Ukraine includes:
-
rockets in the HIMARS systems,
-
tens of thousands of artillery shells,
-
weapons and equipment necessary to strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
