As a result of a special operation in Nikolaev, the counterintelligence of the Security Service neutralized a Russian agent, one of whose tasks was to organize a strong group of agents of the Russian special services. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
The traitor became the head of the ritual service of the Nikolaev communal enterprise. SBU special forces detained him directly at the City Council.
It was established that the attacker gave the enemy the personal data of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the SBU, employees of the National Police and the regional prosecutor’s office. He also gave the conquerors the lists of the dead defenders.
In addition, the traitor collected intelligence about the deployment and movement routes of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region.

His other task was to inform the aggressor about the operation of Nikolaev’s critical infrastructure facilities and other closed issues discussed at City Council meetings.
The officer tried to implicate two of his subordinates and two other city residents, including a senior detective of the district police department, in reconnaissance and subversive activities. They are documented to have pro-Kremlin views and have repeatedly confirmed this in personal conversations and social media posts.
The security service established the identity of a representative of the Russian special services who coordinated the activities of Russian agents from the territory of the temporarily occupied Kherson. It was on his instructions that the attackers collected intelligence and sent it through anonymous accounts on Telegram channels.
During searches of the defendants’ workplaces and residences, law enforcement officials found evidence of criminal activities, in particular, secret correspondence between the leader of enemy agents and his administrator.
As part of the criminal proceedings initiated by SBU investigators under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of informing the detainee of suspicion and choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is resolved.
A pre-trial investigation is underway to bring other members of the undercover group to justice.
Measures to expose intruders were carried out by employees of the SBU of the Nikolaev region under the procedural leadership of the prosecutor’s office.
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who collected intelligence about the control centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as the coordinates of local authorities and hospitals in Chernihiv region.
