“We have information that Russian terrorists mined the dam and units of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. This is one of the largest energy facilities. If Russian terrorists blow up this dam, then about 80 settlements will be in the flood zone, including Kherson,” Zelensky said.
According to him, hundreds of thousands of people may suffer after the dam explodes, and the water supply to a significant part of southern Ukraine may be damaged.
The President also explained that the terrorist country’s plans could remove water from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant for cooling, and the operation of the canal, which was built to supply water to Crimea, would be completely destroyed.
“The consequences of this terrorist attack may be such that it will be called a historical disaster. According to our information, Russia has prepared everything to carry out this terrorist attack. Ukrainian workers are thrown out of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, only the Russians are there, they completely control everything,” said the head of state.
He also stressed the need to act immediately so that Russia does not have the opportunity to carry out this disaster. Zelensky also called for the creation of an international observation mission, the return of Ukrainian personnel to the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, and the clearance of units and dams.
“Russia is doing this to organize another operation under a false flag – to make a terrorist attack and blame Ukraine for it. But we all know what the truth is. We know that it is controlled by the occupiers this territory and what they are capable of. of. They themselves will not stop at anything. But you and I can stop them,” added the President of Ukraine.
Recall that earlier the invaders said that Ukraine was preparing a “strike on the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.” Under this pretext, they began an emergency “evacuation” of residents.
