The dispatch center of Ukrenergo is forced to introduce a temporary controlled limit of electricity consumption in this region.
Electricity consumption is increasing rapidly in the central regions of Ukraine. Residents of Kyiv and Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr regions are requested to urgently reduce electricity consumption. Ukrenergo reported this on Thursday, October 20.
“The dispatch center of Ukrenergo has been forced to introduce a temporary controlled restriction of electricity consumption in this region. We ask the residents of Kyiv and the regions of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkassy, Zhytomyr to immediately reduce the electricity consumption!”, said the message .
Ukrenergo added that this would help reduce the load on the power grid and give power engineers time to repair equipment damaged by terrorist attacks.
“We will remind you when your street will be switched off – your distribution network operator (oblenergo) decides,” added the company.
The previous day, the Ministry of Energy reported that rolling power outages are possible in different regions of Ukraine to simplify the process of restoring the destroyed infrastructure.
Today, restrictions have been introduced in some regions to save electricity, but rolling blackouts have not yet begun.
