Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled nine enemy attacks – General Staff

The Aviation of the Defense Forces has carried out ten strikes in the past day. The defeat of six places of concentration of weapons and military equipment, as well as four positions of the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems was confirmed.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to destroy the Russian invaders. Over the past day, they successfully stopped the enemy’s attack in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. This was announced on Thursday, October 20, by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Within a day, the units of the Defense Forces stopped the offensive of the invaders in the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutskoye, Kleschievka, Krasnogorovka, Novomikhailovka, Nevelskoye, Poprosnoye and Maryinka.

The enemy fires at the positions of Ukrainian troops on the front line, provides engineering equipment for defense positions and lines in separate directions, and conducts aerial reconnaissance.

Violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war, continued attacks on critical infrastructure and civilian habitations.

During the day, the enemy launched eleven missiles and twenty-eight air strikes, making more than sixty-five attacks from multiple launch rocket systems.

Enemy strikes hit areas with more than twenty-five settlements. This is, in particular, Burshtyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ladyzhyn, Vinnitsa region, Zelenodolsk, Dnipropetrovsk region, Seversk, Slavyansk and Terny, Donetsk region, Znachkove, Zaporozhye region, and Davydov Brod, Kherson region.

For their crimes, the invaders used cruise, aviation and anti-aircraft guided missiles. In addition, the enemy launched more than ten Iranian-made Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicles, more than half of which were from the territory of Belarus.

In the directions of Volyn, Polessky and Seversk, the situation has not changed significantly.

In other directions, the enemy carried out shelling:

• in the direction of Slobozhansky – from artillery of various sizes, in the areas of settlements of Goptovka, Gryanikovka, Kolodyaznoe, Krasnoe, Ogurtsovo and Strelka of the Kharkov region;

• in the directions of Kupyansky and Limansky – from cannon and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Berestovo, Kislovka, Pervomayskoye of the Kharkov region; Kovalevka, Novogorovka, Novolyubovka in Luhansk region and Zarechnoe, Terny and Torskoye in Donetsk region;

• in the direction of Bakhmut – from tanks and artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Andreevka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutskoye, Belogorovka, Zelenopole, Kleschievka, Kurdyumovka, Severnoe, Mayorsk, New York, Soledar and Yakovlevka of the Donetsk region;

• in the direction of Avdeevka – from tanks, mortars, cannons and rocket artillery, in the areas of settlements of Avdeevka, Vodiane, Pervomayskoye, Poprosnoe, Krasnogorovka, Maryinka and Novomikhailovka of the Donetsk region.

In the directions of Novopavlovsk and Zaporozhye, the enemy did not conduct active offensive operations. It caused shelling in areas with more than 20 settlements along the entire collision line. Among them are Velyka Novoselka, Vremevka, Vuhledar, Zolotaya Niva of the Donetsk region and Nikolskoe, Orekhov and Krasnoe Zaporizhia.

In the Yuzhnobuzhsky direction, the enemy continues to provide defensive positions. To prevent the counter-offensive of our troops, it shelled the settlements along the entire line of confrontation.

According to the available information, reinforcements from the mobilized people have arrived in the temporarily occupied territory of the Lugansk region. Many facts of theft and robbery are mentioned. It is not excluded that a significant number of the specified contingent came from areas of deprivation of freedom.

According to preliminary information, the leadership of Iran and the Russian Federation agreed to send advisers and instructors on the use of strike UAVs to the territory of the Russian Federation. In particular, it is known about the training of operators of the existing Shahed-136 UAV and the promising Arash-2 UAVs.

There is a high probability that the Russian invaders will uproot the civilian population of the Kherson region. So, on the morning of October 19 of this year, messages were sent to the temporarily occupied territory that called for the evacuation of the population of Nova Kakhovka, allegedly in connection with the preparation of shelling units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the updated information, as a result of the strikes of the Defense Forces in recent days, the defeat of the enemy’s manpower and equipment in the Zaporozhye region was confirmed – up to 150 servicemen were wounded and about 15 that unit of weapons and military equipment was destroyed.
