According to the investigation, the suspect has pro-Russian views and during the occupation of Buchi voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the Russian military.
“He put on the military uniform of the invaders, received weapons from them and, in an armored personnel carrier of the enemy, together with unknown military personnel of the aggressor country, arrived at one of the houses. They entered in the house where there was a woman and a man. The armed suspect ransacked the house and buildings for military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and some symbolism,” the message said.
In this regard, the SBU added that the man planned to join the occupation authorities of the Kyiv region and continue repressions against Ukrainians.
“After the liberation of the city, the collaborator stayed in the region and tried to hide his crimes. Therefore, the traitor joined the ranks of a voluntary formation of the local territorial community. There, under the guise of a defender, he hopes to evade justice,” the SBU said.
In the future, the man planned to restore his ties to the occupiers in order to provide them with intelligence about the deployment and movement of Ukrainian troops throughout the region.
Under the leadership of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office procedure, the man was declared a suspect of collaborative activity (part 7 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court chose a measure of detention for the suspect – detention.
Earlier, a deputy who went to the side of the enemy was detained in the Kharkiv region. He led an illegal authority during the occupation.
