The German air defense system (AD) IRIS-T has already been successfully integrated into the Ukrainian system.
This was announced on October 18 at a briefing by the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat.
The complex has been successfully integrated into the air defense system of Ukraine, has good performance characteristics, so we hope to receive more IRIS-T units from Germany. In addition, we are waiting for the NASAMS complex, which will also strengthen the air defense of our state,” Ignat said.
He added that this German air defense system “passed its first baptism of fire.”
Recall that from October 7 to 18, Russia launched more than 190 missile and kamikaze drone attacks on 16 regions of Ukraine. The strikes were on critical infrastructure facilities.
During this time, more than 70 people died, more than 240 were injured, more than 380 objects were damaged.
On October 18, the Air Force reported that there was now less time to go down to cover. The Muscovites are attacking Ukraine with rockets not from the Caspian, but from near Rostov, so there is less time to prepare for attacks.
Russian strategic bombers launch Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles. The missile flies at a speed of 900 km/h, and if it is launched from the Caspian Sea region, then the air force has more time to react, and people have more time to go down to the shelter. Now the distance is less and the time is also less.
