Armenia expects international participation in the issue of establishing peace in the South Caucasus, the head of the country’s Foreign Ministry said.
The Armenian authorities appealed to the OSCE with a request to send observers to the border with Azerbaijan. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this today, October 18, news.am reports.
According to Mirzoyan, the possibility of sending observers from the OSCE to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is being discussed. They were planned to be placed on the territory of Armenia.
As for the EU’s civil mission, as Mirzoyan noted, Armenia expects international participation in the issue of establishing peace in the South Caucasus.
The mission, according to the minister, will collect evidence proving the facts of Azerbaijan’s aggression and invasion of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. The mission, according to the minister, should also deal with the issues of preventing new aggressions and thus contribute to the establishment of a stable peace.
It was previously reported that the EU approved the sending of a mission to the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Media reports that Azerbaijan and Armenia may sign a peace treaty by the end of the year.
