The missile was launched from a mobile platform from Rize-Artvin Airport in northeastern Turkey. He flew 561 kilometers in 458 seconds and hit his target in the Black Sea, near the city of Sinop.
The Savunmasanayist publication said the new missile is similar to the BORA ballistic missile produced by the same Turkish company and has a range of nearly 300 kilometers.
The Tayfun is called the first Turkish-developed short-range ballistic missile.
