The Ministry of Defense urges not to distribute in social networks photos of the wreckage of downed Iranian-made kamikaze drones Shahed-136, which Russia is actively using in the war against Ukraine.
The fact is that such photos can provide the enemy with valuable information to adjust subsequent strikes or enhance the propaganda effect. This was announced today, on October 17, on her Facebook page by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar.
Some social media users posted photos of the wreckage of the downed Shahedin. It seems that there is nothing terrible – we are proud of the work of our air defense. But. We must gradually learn to think in a military way. And think a little ahead, – emphasizes Malyar.
She notes that photographs of downed drones can show the tail number of an enemy drone. This will provide the enemy with important information – whether a certain device has reached the target or not.
Moreover, hostile media can use this fact for propaganda purposes. Well, we also adhere to the old rule – do not make references to the terrain in the photo. That is, so that it is not clear exactly where you filmed the downed drone, – emphasizes Malyar.
She adds that some social media correspondents have already corrected their messages made after the morning attack on Ukraine by Russian drones, and sketched their side numbers in the photo with the remnants of the downed drones.
Of course, the Facebook page or telegram channel of a well-known blogger can also become a bad example for other ordinary correspondents. Therefore, we will be vigilant and do not give the enemy what he is actively hunting for,” adds the deputy minister.
