Another 2,000 soldiers will be sent to France, where they will undergo combat training for several weeks.
France will provide Ukraine with an air defense system and expand the training program for the Ukrainian military. This was announced on Sunday, October 16, by French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu, reports the Associated Press.
About 2,000 troops will be sent to France, where they will receive combat training, more specialized training in logistics and other requirements for several weeks, he said.
“We are considering the fact that the war, unfortunately, will continue. The new generation of soldiers must also be trained to keep distance,” the minister said.
According to Defense Minister Sebastien Lecorne, France is preparing to send Crotale anti-aircraft missile batteries, which “will be especially useful in and against aerial bombardments.”
Crotale is a French short-range all-weather anti-aircraft missile system designed to engage air targets at medium, low and very low altitude ranges.
It was previously reported that the German IRIS-T air defense system is already operating in Ukraine in the southern direction.
It will be remembered that earlier the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, explained why the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to shoot down the invaders’ missiles more efficiently.
