Poorly equipped and poorly trained invaders had to withstand the heavy attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In winter, the Russian troops will have a harder time than the Ukrainians. This is what the commander of the US Ground Forces in Europe in 2014-2018, retired General Ben Hodges, said on the Espresso TV channel.
“I am sure that the Ukrainian General Staff will continue to pressure the Russian troops and will not give them a chance to recover, regroup or learn something. This is very important. It will be more difficult on the battlefield in the winter. The Ukrainian troops are behind them, and the Russians, ill-equipped, ill-prepared and untrained, will be forced to withstand heavy attacks from the Ukrainian army,” Hodges said.
In his opinion, the Ukrainian army will continue to push and get gains, but it is a little slower and more difficult.
“The weather can cause difficulties for drones. But everything is under the same weather conditions,” said Hodges, emphasizing that at the same time, the Ukrainian army will be more prepared and more effective on winter’s eve.
Earlier, the American Institute for the Study of War said that demoralization in the Russian army was leading to the suspension of the offensive.
