This is what US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo said at a meeting of countries imposing economic restrictions on the Russian Federation, the website of the US Treasury reports.
Currently, Moscow does not have access to advanced technologies and Western financial systems. This limits the ability of its defense industry to produce weapons. Now it is more difficult for him to replace what was destroyed during the war.
“Russia is running out of microelectronics critical to their military-industrial complex, and Russian officials are concerned that they are running out of foreign components,” the official said.
The two largest Russian microelectronics manufacturers have been forced to temporarily suspend production due to a lack of critical foreign technologies, Adeyemo said.
Remember that earlier the head of the US Treasury said that Washington is ready to impose sanctions against countries that provide ammunition to Russia or support the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation.
