The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) adopted a resolution calling Russia a terrorist regime.
The resolution received almost unanimous support, 99 parliamentarians present in the hall voted for it, only one abstained.
At the autumn session of the PACE, which is taking place in Strasbourg, they presented a document entitled “Further escalation of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
It states that this aggression must be unequivocally condemned as a crime in itself, as a violation of international law and a major threat to international peace and security.
Subsequently, the resolution was amended, proposing to “declare Russia a terrorist regime.” During the voting it was supported by 79 deputies, two were against and one abstained.
The resolution also includes an amendment calling for air defense systems to be provided to Ukraine.
PACE became the first international organization to recognize Russia as a terrorist state.
