The European Union together with the European Investment Bank will help restore the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
The EIB has already transferred an additional €550 million to Ukraine. The funds will help, in particular, cover the cost of repairing damaged energy infrastructure facilities and maintain the stability of the Ukrainian electricity grid. On October 12, Prime Minister Denis Shmihal announced this in Telegram.
According to the head of government, this assistance will also be aimed at resuming the provision of municipal and basic services to the population in the communities.
And two months later, as part of an emergency support package from the EIB and the European Commission, Ukraine received 1.05 billion euros. Another 540 million euros will be paid by resuming funding for joint projects.
Shmigal expressed his gratitude to the European Investment Bank and the European Commission for the consistent support of Ukraine.
Recall that Russian rocket attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine led to a power outage in different regions of the state. In particular, on October 12 in Kyiv and the region, new restrictions on electricity supply were reported due to a shortage of power. DTEK Kyiv Electric Grids has temporarily limited power supply to all three lines.
