The minimum allowable temperature in apartments during the 2022-2023 heating season will be reduced to 16 degrees.
The average allowable value will now be 18 degrees. Ukrainians need to save gas and coal after turning on the heating, which means lowering the temperature in the apartments of cities. On October 12, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmihal announced this on Facebook.
According to the head of government, such measures are a necessity and a contribution to victory, since “how our country will go through this winter depends on each Ukrainian.” Earlier, the authorities stated that the minimum air temperature in residential premises should be provided at 18 degrees. This is provided for by current regulations.
Shmigal also urged Ukrainians to stock up on warm clothes, candles, flashlights and batteries to make it easier to survive the winter, because it will be difficult due to Russia’s attempts to leave Ukraine without electricity and heat to pressure the cold.
Let’s not embellish reality: this winter will be hard. Therefore, once again I urge everyone to carefully prepare for the winter. It is desirable that each family has a stock of the necessary basic things: warm clothes, candles, flashlights, batteries. It is important to prepare this in case light or heat disappears as a result of massive rocket attacks, he said.
The head of government stressed that the central authorities, together with the local authorities, had accumulated a sufficient amount of energy resources, prepared networks, and purchased additional equipment. In addition, according to Shmyhal, the damaged infrastructure is being repaired.
Recall that on October 12, Ukrenergo called on Ukrainians to save electricity not only in the evening, but also in the morning. Power engineers urged in the morning from 8.00 to 11.00 and in the evening from 17.00 to 23.00 to treat electricity consumption prudently and reduce it to a minimum. And in the afternoon they asked not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time.
