France intends to transfer to Ukraine three multiple launch rocket systems, an analogue of its own innovation HIMARS. This was discussed at today’s meeting of the Ramstein-format allies in Brussels, the BBC reports, citing its own sources.
So, according to information that has not yet been confirmed, France has promised to provide three of its LRU M270 rocket launchers – this is a modernized analogue of HIMARS on caterpillar tracks.
The Air Force, citing weapons experts from the Oryx project, reports that France has only 12 LRU installations in transition, and another 40 unmodernized LRM M270s are stored in warehouses.
It was also reported today that Canada and the Netherlands have announced new military aid to Ukraine. Ottawa will provide 500,000 winter military clothing and artillery shells.
