“I don’t think he (Russian President Vladimir Putin – ed.) will do it … I consider it irresponsible for him to talk about it,” Biden stressed.
He drew attention to the fact that even the threats of the Russian leader have a destabilizing effect.
“It can lead to a terrible consequence. And not because someone wants to turn it into a world war or anything like that, but only after you use a nuclear weapon, who knows what will happen … He is not ( Putin) continue to talk with impunity about the use of tactical nuclear weapons, as if it makes sense,” the US President said.
He added that one mistake or miscalculation could end in Armageddon.
Biden declined to reveal what the US response to a Russian nuclear strike would look like, but said the Pentagon has plans for such a scenario.
