The head of the Kremlin believes that the actions of the Russian invaders regarding the seizure of Ukrainian nuclear power plants are too “political”.
The Kremlin sees “excessive politicization” of all issues connected “to nuclear activities.” This is what Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, the pro-government news agency RIA Novosti reported on Tuesday, October 11.
“Of course, we see that today there are elements of extremely dangerous politicization of everything related to nuclear activity. We sincerely hope that with your efforts we will be able to reduce the rhetoric on this score, bring the this area of our activity and cooperation in a normal state. despite all the chaos and complex processes taking place on the world stage,” he said.
As previously reported, Putin issued a decree ordering the seizure of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, located in the territories occupied by the Russian Federation.
After this decision, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President, called for immediate sanctions against Rosatom and the Russian nuclear industry.
