Bridges, roads and railways, where Western weapons and supplies are brought into Ukrainian territory, are in danger of being hit, the Pentagon believes.
Russian troops could start mass shootings on communication lines to block the supply of weapons to Ukraine. This was reported by CNN, citing a Pentagon spokesman.
The official noted that Russian forces do not often hit moving targets such as convoys or railroads, but they can try to destroy bridges, roads and railways carrying Western weapons and supplies to Ukraine.
At the same time, according to him, even if the Russians manage to strike on these routes, they will not be able to completely control the supply, because there are “too many” of them.
The United States and partner countries have delivered approximately 70,000 anti-tank weapons to Ukraine, including Javelins, NLAWs, RPGs, and more, the channel spokesman recalled. Deliveries also include approximately 30,000 anti-aircraft missiles and approximately 7,000 launchers for these weapons.
It is emphasized that the United States and NATO assessed the effectiveness of the use of the given systems of Ukrainian forces: they were able to slow down, and in some areas prevented the Russian aggression.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Federation had failed to slow down the supply of arms to Ukraine. Among the reasons that contributed to this was the competent camouflage of military cargoes.
