The German concern Rhinemetall has agreed with the Czech Republic to supply Czech military equipment to Ukraine in exchange for new equipment as part of the “circular exchange” program. This was reported by the press service of the concern on Tuesday, October 11.
Representatives from the Czech Republic, Germany and Rhinemetall held talks in Prague in early September. The parties agreed that the Czech side will receive Leopard 2A4 battle tanks and Buffalo armored recovery vehicles. As a result, the Czech Republic promised to transfer its military equipment to Ukraine along with spare parts.
The Czech side will receive the first deliveries of the new equipment in December 2022, and the entire process should be completed by the end of 2023.
It is currently unknown what kind of weapons the Czech Republic will transfer to Ukraine. However, we can talk about Soviet-style equipment.
Recall that the Czech Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the West should remove restrictions on the supply of arms to Ukraine.
