The massive missile terror of Ukrainian cities captures the strategic limitations of the actions of the Russian Federation and impulsive hysteria in launching all conventional means of attack.
The Russians killed 12 people and wounded more than 80 in the morning shelling across the territory of Ukraine. But experts point out that the invaders failed to sow panic among the Ukrainians, the situation at the front also does not change, so what does such shelling say?
Launched all of that
Igor Romanenko, a retired lieutenant general and former deputy head of the General Staff for the Air Force, believes the massive shelling in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities is the plight of Russian dictator Putin.
“He understands that the loss for him is a political and not only political death. The prospects on the front are getting worse. They have to do something… This is, among other things, Putin’s reaction in the explosion on the Crimean bridge,” Romanenko notes.
Rocket strikes are more focused on the civilian population, the lieutenant general believes. So the citizens put pressure on the leadership of the country – and Ukraine renounced the goals of de-occupation, agreed to negotiations with the Kremlin, ultimatums and legitimization of the territories occupied by the Russian Federation, “said Romanenko.
Limits of Possibilities
Aleksey Izhak, an analyst at the National Institute for Strategic Studies, believes that Russia has shown everything it can do with a missile attack.
‘We certainly see the limits of Russia’s possibilities. Here’s what they can do. Maybe they haven’t launched everything they have yet. We must see. I think, what happened in the Dnieper, the explosions were less powerful than when the big Kh-101, Kh-22 rockets were launched, in particular, it was something smaller.
I do not rule out that a large number of these strikes are Iranian drones, and a large number of these strikes are S-300s in their new version of strikes against ground targets. How many really large missiles there are, maybe there is something, but in the end, this choice also means that they shoot at what they can to show a massive response,” said Izhak.
despair
The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, said the massive rocket attack in Ukraine showed the Kremlin’s growing desperation.
“I strongly condemn the terrible and unacceptable blows inflicted by Russia on Kyiv and throughout Ukraine. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of these unacceptable acts of deliberate violence, ” said Michel.
He noted that the indiscriminate strike against civilians was a war crime.
“That the Kremlin is using this tactic is just evidence of its own growing desperation,” Michel said.
“The European Union remains firmly committed to supporting Ukraine politically, financially, militarily and humanitarianly, as well as in reconstruction and winterization needs,” he added.
