Lukashenka said that the formation of a joint group of troops in the region has begun.
Belarus’ self-proclaimed President Alexander Lukashenko and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin have agreed to deploy a joint group of troops to the region. The head of state of Belarus announced this at a meeting on security issues, writes BelTA.
Alexander Lukashenko recalled that in St. Petersburg, after the informal CIS summit, he had a one-on-one meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“In connection with the increase in the western borders of the Union State, we agreed to deploy a regional grouping of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. All this is according to our documents. If the threat level reaches current level, as of today, we are starting to use the Union State grouping. The basis (I always say this) of this group – the army, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus,” said Lukashenka.
According to him, the formation of this group has already begun.
“This is happening for, in my opinion, for two days. My order was given for us to start building this group,” the self-proclaimed president of Belarus said.
It will be remembered that on October 10, air strikes were carried out in Ukraine using Shahid-type UAVs from the territory of Belarus.
As reported, Lukashenko immediately mobilized security and military forces.
