Brussels wants to allocate billions of euros for arms supplies to Ukraine and expand military aid in the coming months.
The European Union plans to allocate from 10 to 12 billion euros for military aid to Ukraine until 2027. On Sunday, October 9, Welt am Sonntag reports, citing internal EU documents.
It was noted that Brussels wants to allocate billions of euros for the supply of weapons to Ukraine and expand military aid in the coming months.
At the same time, the financial reserve, the so-called European Peace Fund (EFF), in the amount of 5.7 billion euros, could increase significantly. From this, in addition to the new training mission, the supply of weapons is also partially funded.
The allocation of 10 to 12 billion euros in 2027 is being discussed. However, no decision has been made yet.
EU foreign ministers will formally endorse the decision at a meeting in Luxembourg in mid-October. It is also said that up to 15,000 Ukrainians will be trained next winter, and their number may increase significantly later.
So far, 2.6 billion euros have been spent from the EFF on military support for Kyiv.
Remember, on the eve it was reported that Germany approved the transfer of 100 tanks from Greece and Slovakia to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
