Pyongyang said the exercise was conducted as a warning after large-scale South Korean and US naval exercises.
A series of North Korean missile tests were conducted to simulate the shelling of South Korea with tactical nuclear weapons. This was reported by Reuters in connection with the North Korean state news agency KCNA.
North Korea fired two ballistic missiles on the morning of October 9, officials in Seoul and Tokyo said, marking the seventh launch since September 25.
Pyongyang said the exercise was conducted as a warning after large-scale South Korean and US naval exercises.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un led a nuclear tactical operations exercise over the past two weeks involving ballistic missiles with simulated nuclear warheads, and “this was done to convey the message of deterring war,” the leader said of the DPRK.
KCNA said the various tests simulated targeting military command facilities, attacking key ports and neutralizing airports in the south of the country.
“The effectiveness and practical combat capability of our nuclear forces has been fully demonstrated as they are fully equipped to engage and destroy targets anytime from anywhere,” KCNA wrote.
It will be remembered that in early October, North Korea launched a ballistic missile, it flew over Japan. Tokyo was then forced to announce an air alert.
