Shipments from the latest security assistance package from US President Joe Biden’s administration have already begun arriving in Ukraine.
Ukraine received additional fighter jets from other countries, as well as spare parts for them. This was announced Tuesday, April 19, by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby at a briefing.
“Ukraine has received support from other countries to bring some of its aircraft back into service. Ukraine now has more fixed-wing fighter aircraft available than it did two weeks ago,” it said. by Kirby.
He noted that countries with experience in these types of aircraft have helped Ukraine to hoist and launch inactive aircraft.
“Ukrainians have received additional platforms and components to help get more planes into the air,” Kirby added.
A Pentagon spokesman did not specify which countries or types of aircraft were in question. He added that according to a similar scheme, other countries also helped Kiev with tanks.
Recall that Ukraine received the first batch of new US military aid. The United States agreed for the first time to provide Kiev with powerful weapons, including Mi-17 helicopters, Howitzer 155mm cannons and Switchblade drones.
