All the men of draft age hid in the woods. Basic version: went to the forest to pick berries.
In the Karelian village of Sheltozero, in northern Russia, no man could be moved because all the men went to the woods to pick cranberries. This was reported by the Baza Telegram channel.
It was learned that when the military registration and enlistment office started handing out summons, all the men who were subject to mobilization had come out. Basic version: went to the forest to pick berries.
The local administration said that for those areas this is a normal practice. Every year at this time, people go to the forests, live in abandoned villages and collect cranberries.
It was also noticed that some of the men who were to be mobilized from the neighboring village of Rybreka also hid in the forest. Both of these settlements are distinguished by the fact that the Veps live there – these are the native Finno-Ugric people, of which there are no more than six thousand people left.
About 350 men lived in the village of Sheltozero itself, and most of them hid in the forest.
Remember, on the eve it was reported that those mobilized in the Russian Federation rebelled and refused to fight.
It was also learned about another attempt to set fire to the military registration and enlistment office in the suburbs.
