The number of victims of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has forced the country’s authorities to look for the possibility of dedicating a separate plot of land for military burials.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to create a separate military cemetery in Ukraine. This was announced on Tuesday, October 4, by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk on Telegram.
“Permission was given to the Department of Veterans Affairs to establish a state institution, the National War Memorial Cemetery, under its administration,” he said.
Speaking about the time of organization of such a cemetery, Melnychuk said that the Ministry of Veterans is obliged to create it within two months.
“Within two months, take the necessary measures to ensure the activities of the said state institution,” said Melnychuk.
Where such a cemetery will be placed and how much land they plan to dedicate to it is not reported.
Recall that in the Kyiv region, law enforcement officers detained the director of the KP Funeral Service of one of the villages. He demanded a bribe for allocating grave sites in the cemetery.
In early June, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that 60-100 Ukrainian defenders were being killed every day and around 500 were wounded.
