In the city of Skvira, Kyiv region, on Monday night, October 3, a fatal accident occurred – the driver of a Volkswagen car fatally hit two children. This was reported by the press service of the National Police in the region.
“A 29-year-old driver of a Volkswagen car hit two girls aged 6 and 8, tried to leave the scene, crashed into a tree, tried to hide, but was stopped by witnesses,” said of the report.
It was noted that one child from his injuries died on the spot, the second – in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.
The driver was arrested and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Criminal proceedings are opened on the fact of violation of traffic rules (part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code). The detainee faces up to ten years in prison.
