This September alone, 235 people were returned from enemy captivity, Andrei Yermak said.

Ukraine and Russia conducted another prisoner exchange. Four sailors and two civilians were brought home. This was announced by the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak on Telegram on Thursday, September 29.

According to him, among those released from Russian captivity:

  • officers – Bulakhov Alexey and Kostenko Nikolai

  • soldiers – Lyudmila Gerasimenko and Ivan Zemlyanoy

  • civilians – Andrush Victoria and Mayboroda Yana.

Yermak said that each of the freed Ukrainians has his own story. The freed soldiers took part in the battles for Mariupol, where they were taken.

Viktoria Andrusha was taken out of the house by Russian soldiers on March 27, because they found data about enemy equipment on the girl’s phone, which she passed on to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Subsequently, he was taken to the Russian Federation and kept in the Kursk pre-trial detention center.

Yana Mayboroda was caught due to the fact that her phone included photos of Russian equipment in the Chernobyl zone.

The head of the OP mentioned that the exchanges are continuing, and the goal of the authorities is to return all our people.

“We are working on this non-stop, and we will really do it. Thanks to the effective work of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. This month alone, we returned 235 of our people. We are not stopping,” said by Yermak.

Recall that last week a large exchange of prisoners took place, in which Ukraine returned 215 people. 10 foreigners were also released.

As part of the exchange of prisoners, the commanders of the Azov regiment and the commander of the 36th Marine Brigade were released, who, under the terms of the exchange, will remain in Turkey until the end of the war.

But today it became known that the Russian Federation intends to demand from Turkey the extradition of the commanders of Azov.
