In Ukraine, the commander of a large landing ship, Caesar Kunikov, captain of the 3rd rank, Alexander Chirva, was removed. This was announced on Monday, April 18, by the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev on his Telegram channel.
According to him, Alexander Chirva died from wounds received in the battles in Ukraine. His funeral took place on April 18 in Sevastopol.
Alexander Chirva was born in Sevastopol. Graduated from the Naval Academy branch of the Naval Institute of Radio Electronics named Popov.
In 2015 and 2016, he participated in a special operation in Syria.
Caesar Kunikov was a Project 775 (775/II) large landing ship in service with the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy.
Recall that the larger landing ships Caesar Kunikov and Novocherkassk were wrecked in the port of Berdyansk on March 24, when the Saratov ship exploded nearby.
